Director Patty Jenkins Shoots Down Rumors That 'Wonder Woman' Is A "Mess"

Shots fired and shots fired back. An open letter email, allegedly from a disgruntled individual at Warner Bros., hit the Interwebs yesterday, calling out his or her own company for botching the DCU films including “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Suicide Squad.” The anonymous supposed WB employee urged accountability for Zack Snyder and the execs of the studio that had greenlit these movies in the first place, laid off lesser co-workers after the fallout and approved additional films with the same players that were critically reviled (Snyder is helming “Justice League” despite fan blowback about his botched first product).

Of course the open letter caused ripples through the Internet, echoing sentiments of many fans frustrated with the DC Universe and its lackluster quality so far. Caught in the crosshairs of this letter was director Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman,” the next picture in the DCU. The letter claimed “Wonder Woman” was “a mess” and generally suggested that WB still hadn’t course-corrected their problematic interconnected universe.

Well, the filmmaker herself got wind of the rumors and shot them down vehemently, essentially calling them bullshit. You can read her responses below and judge for yourself. Though to be fair, it still hasn’t been proven that the letter is legitimately from a WB employee, and what else would Jenkins say, her movie is in trouble? Let’s just call them even for now. Starring Gal Gadot, “Wonder Woman” hits theaters June 2, 2017.
