It’s been just over one week since 20th Century Fox saw Tim Miller leave “Deadpool 2” over creative differences, and now Warner Bros. is having their own superhero problems with “The Flash.”
THR reports that “Dope” director Rick Famuyiwa, who signed up to helm the movie this summer, has now exited the project over, you guessed it, “creative differences.” The film, which is slated to star Ezra Miller, Kiersey Clemons, Ray Fisher and Billy Crudup, was gearing up to shoot next March, but apparently Famuyiwa’s “edgy” approach wasn’t sitting well with the suits at Warner Bros. The director’s exit could mean that “The Flash” gets pushed back, as Miller’s schedule is tied up with another movie set to shoot next summer.
This is the second director in seven months to bail on “The Flash” (Seth Grahame-Smith left in April, also over “creative differences,” or because he was inexperienced, depending on who you ask), which certainly gives the movie a bit of a stain. Coming in as the third director on a project can’t be the most enticing opportunity so it’ll be interesting to see a) who WB decides to woo and b) if they can keep this movie on track for release in 2018.
Any suggestions on who could take over? Let us know below. Maybe Miller and Famuyiwa could just switch jobs?
