'Disaster Artist' And 'Jim & Andy' Tackle Oddball Artistic Visions [Podcast]

Join us on a deep dive down the rabbit hole of 4th-wall-shattering meta comedy, so-bad-it’s-good cult fandom, and two artists with their own batshit crazy, yet truly unique, artistic visions that could NAAAHT be denied…

On this episode of Adjust Your Tracking, Joe and I open on the often unfair but necessary movie hype machine that pervades us all around these parts, especially this time of year. We then get into the meat of this episode, with a double feature chat on two movies that gel together perfectly. Firstly, we discuss “The Room” and its maker Tommy Wiseau, a fascinating, hilarious once-in-a-lifetime cult movie phenomenon that still plays to packed theaters in cities across the U.S. It, of course, spawned James Franco‘s new hit indie release, “The Disaster Artist,” currently doing huge box office in limited release and set to expand wide soon (oh, and there’s plenty of awards talk too).

On the back half we get into Netflix original documentary “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – Featuring A Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention Of Tony Clifton.”  It’s a fascinating film about the making of Andy Kaufman biopic “Man On The Moon“, with Jim Carrey and his incredible performance right at the center of it all. We get into it, so tune in.
