'Disenchantment' Trailer: Netflix's Animated Fantasy Series From Matt Groening Goes To Hell In Season 2

Things could be going better for our hero, Bean, in Matt Groening’s animated Netflix series “Disenchantment.” Her mother is evil, the citizens of her town have turned to stone, and her best friend is dead. So, what’s a hero to do?

Well, as seen in the trailer for “Disenchantment” Season 2, Bean and her personal demon Luci have to save their friend Elfo from Hell, defeat her evil mother, and somehow restore Dreamland to its former glory. And of course, along the way get into plenty of hilarious hijinks that come standard from a series that is created by the man behind “The Simpsons.” It would appear that Season 2 of “Disenchantment” firmly sheds the “Medieval/Fantasy Simpsons” description and has turned into something completely unique, despite the signature humor and style of Groening.

As mentioned, “Disenchantment” comes from the mind of Groening, along with his co-producer Josh Weinstein. The series stars the vocal talents of Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

The new season of “Disenchantment” arrives on Netflix on September 20.

Here’s the synopsis:

Launching last year, Disenchantment instantly whisked audiences away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland. There, they followed the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio encountered ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools. Picking up where we left off, Disenchantment Part Two delves deeper into the un-fairytale’s mythology and explores faraway worlds well beyond Dreamland. But one question remains: Have we really seen the last of the beloved Elfo?
