Trump Created A Fake Movie Trailer To Show Kim Jong-un And It's Not Great

Some might say that Donald Trump is perhaps the worst president to ever step into the White House. Others wear red hats and call him a patriot. No matter what you believe about Donald Trump’s politics, one thing is for sure – he’s a showman.

No, not like Hugh Jackman. You probably won’t ever see Trump dance around belting out showtunes. But the man does like a grand entrance, filled with pomp and circumstance. That being said, the President surely outdid himself before his meeting with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

Before the historic handshake that will no doubt be the top headline today, Trump decided the best way to mark the occasion is with a movie trailer. That’s right, the President of the United States, and de facto “leader” of the free world, created a four-minute fake movie trailer promoting the meeting with Kim Jong-un as if it’s the latest summer blockbuster.

Think “The Day After Tomorrow” meets “Top Gun.” That’s the vibe you get from the footage shown to the world today. Complete with epic voiceover, the footage shows that there are two outcomes to the meeting between Trump and the leader of North Korea – World War III or incredible prosperity. It’s equal parts threatening and foreboding, as well as hopeful and optimistic. But it’s definitely not going to win any awards.

Let’s just say, the production value leaves a lot to be desired. If you presented the clip to a stranger and asked them who they thought created it, you wouldn’t be able to blame them if they said it was from a 10-year-old with access to iMovie. It’s not good.

Production quality aside, the “trailer” is obviously a chance to look into the mind of the man running our country. If you had any questions in your head about how highly Trump thinks of himself, that should be put to bed today because it’s obvious that he sees himself as an American hero, on the same level as Captain America or Superman. Trump even gave himself top billing.

Look, we see a lot of trailers come across our desks each day. But boy oh boy, we never thought we’d have to write a trailer summary like this. Let’s just hope this is the first and last production from Destiny Pictures.
