'Don't Look Deeper' Trailer: Don Cheadle & Helena Howard Star In Catherine Hardwicke's Sci-Fi Quibi Series

Quibi might not be enjoying the massive launch that the company hoped for, but there’s no denying that the streaming service has some impressive talent working on projects, as seen in the upcoming series, “Don’t Look Deeper,” which combines filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke with a pretty great cast.

According to the new trailer for “Don’t Look Deeper,” the “quick bite” series (basically a feature film broken up into small chapters/episodes) follows a young teen that discovers her life and everything she thought she knew about it is a lie. In fact, she’s likely not even a human, but instead some sort of android that is programmed by people that call themselves her parents.

The series stars Helena Howard, Don Cheadle, Emily Mortimer, Ema Horvath, Jan Luis Castellanos, Belissa Escobedo, Kaiwi Lyman, Harvey Zielinski, Harvey Guillen, Brandon Win, Kayleigh Gilbert, and Dana Gourrier. As mentioned, “Don’t Look Deeper” is the latest project from director Catherine Hardwicke. She’s probably best known for her film, “Twilight” (kinda under the radar, but a definite cult favorite). However, she’s also the filmmaker behind features such as “Thirteen,” “Lords of Dogtown,” and, most recently, “Miss Bala.”

Set in Merced, California, “fifteen minutes into the future,” DON’T LOOK DEEPER centers on a high school senior who can’t seem to shake the feeling that something about her just isn’t right. And that something is… she’s not human… not one of us. This revelation of what she really is, where she comes from, and who has started looking for her, sets in motion a series of events that suddenly puts her entire life in jeopardy.
