Yeah, so there’s probably going to be a lot of this going on before the roles are actually cast for “Star Wars: Episode 7.” Undoubtedly, every agent and agency in Hollywood is throwing whatever talent they have at Disney and J.J. Abrams in the hopes of being a small part of what will be a mega-franchise, and today a couple of names have surfaced.
Latino Review reports that Rachel Hurd-Wood (“Peter Pan,” “Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer“) and Alex Pettyfer (“I Am Number Four,” “Magic Mike“) are both….wait for it….being considered for “Star Wars: Episode 7.” Hurd-Wood (we love saying that) read for the part of the daughter of Princess Leia, while Pettyfer’s part is undisclosed, though the guessing here is that it will be for Luke Skywalker’s son. Again, none of the is final and there are probably all kinds of people being looked at, so y’all chill.
Until then, let the image of Pettyfer possibly wielding a lightsaber sear itself into your brain, and then wonder why the folks around “Star Wars” have such an inability to look at beyond blandly handsome, uncharismatic leading men (Mark Hamill, Hayden Christensen and now this). The mind boggles. And oh yeah, apparently a real deal casting announcement from Lucasfilm is coming soon, so prepare thy underoos to be soiled.
