The holidays are all about family, which usually means that when it comes to sitting down with everyone to watch a movie…choices become limited. You won’t want anything too raunchy that will offend the grandparents in the room, or too freaky for the parents, so you're usually stuck with something very polite and middle-of-the-road. Suitable for all audiences, as it were. Well, once you've done your familial duties, you might be in the mood for something a bit more risque, well, you'll have options.
"Bubba Ho-Tep" director Don Coscarelli returns with "John Dies At The End" and if this new red band trailer is any indication, it will deliver all kinds of oddball delights. Rob Mayes, Chase Williamson and Paul Giamatti star in this one in which a fucked up drug called Soy Sauce leads to ancient evils, trans-dimensional bugs and meat monsters among other things. It all looks delightfully deranged and we called it an "odd and engaging genre treat" when we caught it at Sundance earlier this year.
The film goes VOD on December 27th before landing in theaters in limited release on January 25, 2013. Watch below. [IGN]
