Summer blockbuster season means that the bladders of the moviegoing tend to be tested. “The Fate Of The Furious,” “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2,” “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Wonder Woman,” and this week’s “Transformers: The Last Knight” all break the two-hour mark, but one of the most anticipated movies coming to cinemas next month will give everyone a little break.
Christopher Nolan‘s war drama “Dunkirk” officially clocks in at 1 hour and 47 minutes. It’s a surprisingly sleek runtime for the director who has spent much of “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Inception,” and “Interstellar,” luxuriating in longer runtimes for his dream worlds. “Dunkirk” will be Nolan’s shortest film since his debut feature, “Following.”
Besides that little bit of news, the rest of the details surrounding “Dunkirk” remain firmly under wraps for the moment. Starring Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Harry Styles, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, and Cillian Murphy, “Dunkirk” opens on July 21st.
