Dwayne Johnson Keeps Talking About 'Shazam,' Also Lines Up 'Journey 3 & 4'

Dwayne Johnson, ShazamDwayne Johnson doesn’t need much prodding to talk about "Shazam." In fact, we’re pretty sure his breakfast order is, "three eggs scrambled, multigrain toast, bacon, beans, fruit smoothie and….oh hey, did I tell you about the DC Comics movie I’m doing?" And so while he waits for Warner Bros. to finally make it official, the erstwhile Rock continues to talk about the project he hoped would’ve been formally announced last month in San Diego.

"My trip to Comic-Con was a surprise, so I personally called executives at New Line and Warner Bros. to see if they would like to announce "Shazam" [with] me there. Unfortunately, it was not time yet, but the official announcement should happen soon," he told Omelette (via Comic Book Movie).

"I am 100% sure that the movie will happen. We’ve talked about it since 2008, when I was offered the role for the first time…[It] was just a matter of finding the right script, and it finally happened now," Johnson continued. "We have a writer who understood the story and brought an amazing approach not only to Shazam, but the power of Black Adam as well."

While the actor has apparently still not chosen if he’ll play Captain Marvel or his opposite number Black Adam, he’s certainly not putting all of his franchise eggs in the DC Comics basket. THR reports that "Journey 3" and "Journey 4" are moving ahead, with Johnson coming back and Josh Hutcherson expected as well. Chad and Carey Hayes of "The Conjuring" fame will pen the scripts.

So, comic movies, big franchises….we just want to know what ever happened to that Charley Pride biopic….
