We don’t do television often, but obviously HBO is a cut above. The new teaser trailer for the second season of the Danny McBride led show, “Eastbound & Down” is out and it looks pretty damn good. David Gordon Green, an occasional director on the show told folks in attendance at SXSW that the show would be set outside the U.S. and that promise seems to have been fulfilled. “We’re leaving the country and leaving most of the characters behind,” he said in March. “I don’t know that I’m allowed to say where we’re going, but it’s pretty dark. I just read the first episode and we’re doing 8 episodes and it’s going to be a longer and more complicated view of Kenny Powers fucking up.”
The show, if you haven’t seen it, centers on Kenny Powers (McBride), a former professional baseball pitcher, who after a disappointing career is forced to return to his hometown middle-school in Shelby, North Carolina as a substitute physical education teacher. Looks like they’re off in Mexico now. Ok, this teaser trailer kinda sucks, but it at least tells us the the second season starts September 26. [via Vulture]
