With “Beverly Hills Cop IV” now actually happening, we may get the return of Superstar Eddie Murphy, something we haven’t seen in some time. But first we’ll see the actor take a turn toward the dramatic in what is essentially a quasi-remake of “Driving Miss Daisy.”
Bruce Beresford directs this one that instead of focusing on a humble chauffeur, centers around a humble cook, who is hired to care for a woman dying of cancer, and of course, winds up being more involved in what is all a very heartwarming story. Here’s the official synopsis:
MR. CHURCH, produced by Cinelou and EMA, is a touching and heartwarming drama that tells the story of a lifelong friendship that develops between a young girl (Robertson) and the cook (Murphy) hired to help care for her dying mother (Natascha McElhone).
“Mr. Church” opens on September 16th.
