If you need any reminder that Edgar Wright likely has a playlist ready for any occasion, please do yourself a favor and catch up with “Baby Driver” (and maybe just mentally block out the Kevin Spacey scenes). The director is in dazzling form behind the camera, and also powers the whole movie from end to end with a carefully curated selection of songs that pretty much choreograph every movement in the movie. Well, now he’s sharing the music that kept his ears buzzing all year long.
Wright has dropped his 50 Best Songs Of 2017 and it erupts with some heavy-hitting jams from the likes of St. Vincent, Wolf Alice, Beck, Arcade Fire, Phoenix, Broken Social Scene, Laura Marling, Mac Demarco, Drake, Father John Misty, Frank Ocean, and Kendrick Lamar. Glad to see some love for Rostam (his album, Half-Light, seems pretty slept on) and Canadian indie rockers, Alvvays.
If you need a playlist to get you through the month, keep this one loaded up.
Okay! Here, for your listening pleasure, is a mighty playlist of My Top 50 Songs Of 2017. I do hope you all enjoy. https://t.co/gq4Y7KnZRx
