Eli Roth's 'The Green Inferno' Pulled From Release Calendar

nullWith less than a month to go before it was slated to hit theatres, the marketing campaign around Eli Roth‘s "The Green Inferno" was muted at best. Aside from a new trailer at the end of May, there wasn’t much else in the way of promotion. It appears behind-the-scenes squabbling was the cause, which lead to the horror movie being yanked from release entirely.

Deadline reports that the previously scheduled September 5th release of "The Green Inferno" will no longer be happening, with distributors Open Road pulling the movie after financiers Worldwide bailed on their commitment for P&A. The latter company has been through some minor turmoil recently, and they are now looking closely at all the deals made by ex-CEO Christopher Woodrow. So what does this mean for Roth’s tale of do-gooders who meet a band of cannibals?

Well, someone else could step in to provide the P&A, another distributor could possibly take it off Open Road’s hands, or it’ll sit in limbo for a while as all this gets sorted out. Either way, on September 5th you’ll have to get your horror fix somewhere else. Check out our review of the movie right here.
