Once upon a time, streaming was seen as the solution to carrying a costly cable package. But with one service after another hitting the landscape, all these subscriptions are going to amount to the same big monthly bill. At any rate, Facebook will no longer just be the place where you get your #fakenews. The social media space are throwing their weight into the original content game, and we have to say, this announcement is certainly interesting.
Director James Ponsoldt (“The Spectacular Now,” “The End Of Tour“) will direct ten-episode, half-hour female-driven dramedy starring Elizabeth Olsen, with the actress also executive producing. The show comes from Kit Steinkellner (“Z: The Beginning of Everything“) who created and wrote and untitled project, and despite an absurdly long press release, there are no plot details. Still, just the names only are enough to have us intrigued by the project.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the group we have brought together for this show. Kit’s story has been near and dear to me for years and I can’t wait to share our dark, funny, and complicated show with the world,“ Olsen said.
No word yet on when the series might land on the Facebook platform, or if there will be a cost, but those details are still likely being worked out.
