Emily Blunt To Say 'All You Need Is Kill' With Tom Cruise; Top Contender For 'Thin Man' Along With Emma Stone & Kristen Wiig

Emily BluntTom Cruise is back baby, and the actor hasn't been slowing down for a second, eager to strike with the moment is still hot. But a side-story to his recent string of movies has been the bevy of beauties he's lined up to star with. Paula Patton and Lea Seydoux prowled "Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol"; Olga Kurylenko and Andrea Riseborough feature in "Oblivion" and Rosamund Pike stars in "One Shot." And another talented, and yes attractive, lead is lining up for Cruise's next big screen undertaking.

Emily Blunt is in talks to join "All You Need Is Kill." Set to be directed by Doug Liman, this long brewing project is an adaptation of the Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel that follows a soldier in an alien war who finds himself living his last day in battle over and over again after being caught in a time loop, becoming a better soldier along the way. But this is no plain love interest role for Blunt. In a nice gear change for the actress, she is actually lining up to play a soldier alongside Cruise, which would definitely be new territory for the actress, and one we'd be interested to see her stake out.

But that isn't all. Blunt is also in the running for the female lead in "The Thin Man" with Johnny Depp, and according to Variety, she's a top contender for the part alongside Emma Stone and Kristen Wiig from a shortlist that featured Eva Green, Amy Adams, Carey Mulligan, Rachel Weisz and Isla Fisher. And if "The Five-Year Engagement" kicks off the way it should, Blunt will only be more in demand.

"All You Need Is Kill" is gearing up, and no word exactly on when it will roll, but it should be next for both Liman and Cruise.
