While we’re still awaiting our Slut & The Falcon spinoff, we’re just glad that Emma Watson and director Stephen Chbosky aren’t waiting too long to work together after delivering last year’s hugely enjoyable and somewhat underrated “Perks Of Being A Wallflower.” It was the rare teen movie that got those years right, with lots of humor and heart as well, and now the pair are going to try something both youthful and a bit different.
Deadline reports that Chbosky will take the helm of the Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter (“(500) Days Of Summer,” “The Spectacular Now“) penned adaptation of Adena Halpern‘s novel “29.” Going by the new title, “While We’re Young” (which is not to be confused by the forthcoming movie of the same name by Noah Baumbach), Watson will star in the “Freaky Friday”-ish story of a 75-year old grandma who gets her birthday wish to be 29 again, and hangs with her granddaughter. Honestly? Sounds a bit corny, but hopefully the pairing of Chbosky and Watson can again create something special. No word yet on when this will roll and where it fits in Watson’s growing slate of movies, but hopefully we’re know more soon.
