Breakups are tough. Sometimes, they can actually feel soul-shattering. But do you know the best way to get over a breakup? Get involved in a complicated love triangle with two of the most handsome men on the planet. What could go wrong? Well, in “Endings, Beginnings,” we see how that seemingly great rebound scenario might not go so well.
In the trailer for Drake Doremus’ new film, we meet a young woman that is coming off a terrible breakup with her ex. While at a party, she meets a handsome, charming man that sweeps her off her feet and gets her right back into the swing of things. But their relationship is complicated further by the introduction of Frank, who is also a handsome, charming man that has eyes for our hero.
The film stars the beautiful triad of Shailene Woodley, Sebastian Stan, and Jamie Dornan. “Endings, Beginnings” is written and directed by Drake Doremus. The filmmaker is probably best known for his films “Douchebag,” “Equals,” and “Like Crazy.” The latter of which earned the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
In our review from last year’s TIFF, we said, “The problem with ‘Endings, Beginnings’ is that Doremus never bothers to give us a compelling reason to care about a single one of these people, other than the fact that movie stars are playing them. To make matters worse, he buries them in a sea of indie relationship drama clichés…”
“Endings, Beginnings” arrives in theaters and Digital on May 1.
