Eva Green Joins Johnny Depp In Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows'

Things are moving fast on Tim Burton‘s “Dark Shadows” with filming to set to start soon. Yesterday, Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcote were the latest names to be linked to the project, and now, a beauty that be stills the beating hearts of the male faction of The Playlist team has joined the film.

Deadline reports that Eva Green has landed the female lead opposite Johnny Depp in the forthcoming adaptation of the 1960s cult television show. Green will play Angelique, “a powerful witch who was alternately tormented and bewitched by her love-hate relationship with Barnabas Collins (Depp).”

What can we say? We’re big Green fans and we’re glad to see her back in a big picture (after knocking around a few indie pictures that haven’t done much). Production on Burton’s “Dark Shadows” is scheduled to begin in April and is likely to hit theaters in 2012.
