Eva Mendes Joins Ryan Gosling's Directorial Debut, Because What Else Did You Think Was Going To Happen?

Eva MendesAfter pairing up as colleagues in the upcoming "The Place Beyond The Pines," and off screen as the most enviable couple in Hollywood, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are taking their relationship to the next level. And don't worry ladies, we're not talking marriage.

Mendes has (inevitably) joined Gosling's directorial debut, "How To Catch A Monster." And if there's any way to surely test any union, it's working together. Good luck, Mendling. Penned by Gosling, the cryptic logline reveals the story to be centering on Billy, a single mother of two, who is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive. Mendes joins Christina HendricksBen Mendelsohn (another 'Pines' actor) and the also newly cast Rob Zabrecky on the picture, and she'll play Cat, who takes a central role at something called Big Bad Wolf Club, which we presume is the fetish club that has been hinted at earlier.

Production on the movie gets underway this spring, and after working with folks like Terrence Malick, George ClooneyNicolas Winding Refn, Derek Cianfrance and more, we're of course eager to see what Gosling puts together with his first venture behind the camera. [Bloody Disgusting]
