Ok, Kenneth Branagh is going for broke with his Marvel adaptation of, “Thor.”
The film already stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Natalie Portman (the love interest), Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, possibly Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson and Tadanobu Asano.
So, what’s one more addition? Natalie Portman says in an MTV interview, “Kat Dennings is going to be in it with me and she’s a good friend and an amazing actress, so I’m looking forward to that.”
Who will the “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” star actually play? A human/mortal friend of Portman? Let’s hope so. As much as we love Dennings, we can’t really see her as a Norse goddess kicking ass, no offense. Though fanboys (and uhh, us, let’s face it), would probably drool at that prospect. Btw, it seems our posit is correct and Dennings will probably play a mere mortal.
“Thor” starts shooting in January, so plenty of time to add names to this pitiful list of actors. Kidding. We’re amazed at who’s on board. And while it seems like quantity, it does favor quality over just Hollywood names.
