Exclusive: Chilling 3-Minute Clip From Thriller 'The Frozen Ground' Starring John Cusack

The Frozen Ground John Cusack

While John Cusack has cemented himself a place in film history thanks to memorable performances in movies like “Say Anything,” “High Fidelity,” “Grosse Point Blank,” “Being John Malkovich” and more, he’s also an actor with a diverse range of talents. Later this month, he’ll be seen playing none other than Richard Nixon in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” showing audiences a different side of his skills. Also coming out in August, there’s another movie that will highlight Cusack’s range, one in which he takes a role about as far away from Lloyd Dobler as you can get.

Based on a true story, “The Frozen Ground“—co-starring Nicolas Cage and Vanessa Hudgens—tells the true story of Alaskan State Trooper Jack Halcombe, on a quest to finally lock up serial killer Robert Hansen (Cusack), who has stacked up bodies for 13 years. A 17-year-old near-victim who managed to escape (Hudgens) provides key information that could help solve the case, but Jack might already be too late. And in this exclusive clip, you can experience Cusack’s chilling portrayal of Robert as he tends to a young woman, played by Gia Mantegna, chained up in his basement.

“The Frozen Ground” opens in theaters and will be available on VOD on August 23rd. Check out the clip below.
