Exclusive: Feel The Terror In Trailer For 'History Of Fear' Premiering At The Berlin Film Festival

History Of Fear

We may not have known the name Benjamín Naishtat before today, but you can bet it’s one we’ll keep an eye on. The filmmaker is headed to the Berlin Film Festival with his debut feature film “History Of Fear,” and it speaks to its promise that the movie has landed a competition slot. Today, we have the exclusive trailer for the film to share with you why Naishtat may be one to put on your radar.

Starring Jonathan Da Rosa, Tatiana Giménez, Mirella Pascual, Claudia Cantero and Francisco Lumerman, the film journeys into the suburbs where social order is on the edge of collapse in the wake of blackouts and pollution. Giving off an enigmatic but magnetic air, Naishtat has been working on the movie for four years, weaving together character and genre elements into what looks to be a compelling concoction. Here’s the director’s statement about the project:

History of Fear is a film about scared people. In the context of the chaotic summer in the suburbs, the social order reveals itself to be fragile and about to give in. All the characters appear to have a motive that lets instinct drive their decisions. The audience must join the characters in their uncertain drift, walk into the dark with them, and project that which lies in the core of fear itself.

Audiences will experience that core of fear soon. “History Of Fear” premieres on Sunday, February 9th. Watch below.
