Summer is here, which means beaches, decks, BBQs and, invariably, booze, but the number of libations available to slake your thirst are seemingly endless. We live in an era where almost everything is micro-brewed, and anyone can become a self-proclaimed expert on single malt scotch. But there are also artisans of drink mixing who uphold a tradition spanning decades upon decades, and that’s the focus of “Hey Bartender.”
The documentary directed by Douglas Tirola, which premiered earlier this year at SXSW, centers on two bartenders looking to make their mark in the industry. Detailing the history of mixing drinks, the contemporary rise of mixology and crafted alcoholic beverages and more, the documentary takes a look at a profession that has grown beyond just pulling drafts for folks at the bar. Below, we have two exclusive posters for the movie, the first of which will be used for the theatrical release, while the second will be a limited edition one sheet used at select screenings.
