Exclusive: Poster For Silent TIFF Pic Fairytale 'Blancanieves'

nullIf the "The Artist" proved anything last year, it's that silent cinema is hardly a dead format. Still a place where great storytelling and expressive visuals combine for a memorable moviegoing experience, for those looking for another modern take on the genre, TIFF has a treat in store with Spain's "Blancanieves."

Written and directed by Pablo Berger, instead of being an ode to American cinema, his film nods to European melodramas with a fantastical story set in 1920s Spain inspired by the fairytale "Snow White." The story centers on a girl who never knew her mother, who learns art of bullfighting from her famous father, and is despised by her evil stepmother. One day she runs away with a troupe of dwarfs and becomes a legend.

This exclusive poster is a lovely look at the world put up on the silver screen by Berger. "Blancanieves" hits TIFF this weekend. Check out the Spanish teaser trailer and full one sheet below.
