Starting tomorrow, New York City’s Metrograph will kick off a film series dedicated to French actor Vincent Lindon, and with good reason. He’s one of the country’s finest actors and there’s no better opportunity to celebrate his talent than with the release of "The Measure Of A Man," which earned Lindon the Best Actor prizes from Cannes Film Festival and César Film Awards. And today we have an exclusive look at the movie that we said "makes you want to be a kinder person."
Co-written and directed by Stéphane Brizé, and featuring a number of non-professional actors, the story follows Thierry (Lindon), a mechanic who’s been unemployed for close to two years, enduring dashed hopes and constant rejection in his search for work. When he finally lands a job in security at a big-box supermarket, he is forced into situations where he must make decisions that go against everything he believes in. And in the clip below, Thierry shares the mental and emotional blow of losing his job, and they are feelings he’s not keen to revisit.
