Extra! Extra! Eddie Murphy Not Retiring, BV4 Still Happening, Brett Ratner Soothed, Fat-Suit Enthusiasts Relieved!

Eddie Murphy retiring? Jigga, please. We’re not sure what Entertainment TV show Extra was smoking, but apparently is saying, “Ahh, hell nah.”

Talking to MTV just last weekend, Murphy dismissed the retirement rumors and just said he wanted to forget “Beverly Hills Cop 3” ever even existed.

This evidently explains the motivation for wanting to do a “Beverly Hills Cop 4″: Because the third ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ was horrible!” Murphy told MTV. “I didn’t want to leave it like that. The first two were cool and the third one was shitty. [Let’s] get the franchise fixed again, clean up this old mess and do a good movie.”

Eddie Murphy is… self-aware. Take a second to take that in, swill it around your brain and move forward. Hmm, ok. Anyhow…

Murphy said he wants to make ‘BV4’ “special,”‘ which may or may not mean a epidemic of fat-suits in the film, it’s really hard to tell with Mr. Axel Foley these days.

“All I know is that it’s gonna be something that’s special. I’m not doing just, hey give me some big check and I go off [does the Foley laugh] and shoot the gun and jump over cars,” Murphy told MTV News. “Like, that’s some bullshit. If I do it, it’s gonna be some shit that’s right!”

Amen, brother! So is Extra totally wrong? Or does MTV have totally old information? Knowing the quality of Extra TV and their hard-hitting reporting, we’ll be sticking with that good group of folks that no longer care to play music videos.

Either way, Brett Ratner is sitting pretty, cause yesterday he thought he was a public chump.
