If you’re a celebrity nowadays, you have to be aware that everyone has a camera. Even as far back as 10 years ago, there was a solid chance that if a celebrity did something stupid and/or criminal, they probably wouldn’t be caught on video unless it was a security camera. Today? That’s all changed. Not only are there cameras everywhere, but people carry around 4K cameras in their pockets in their smartphones. And when you’re a grown adult like Ezra Miller, this is a lesson that you may have to learn the hard way.
A video hit social media this morning that shows Ezra Miller, of “Fantastic Beasts” and “Justice League” fame, seemingly grabbing a female by the throat and throwing her to the ground. While it seems playful at first, or at least the woman is seemingly smiling, according to allegations from people who were there, the altercation is serious and disturbing.
Additionally, according to Variety who spoke to people who were there, the video and incident are very much real, and here’s the alleged context for the video, from folks who were at the bar, Prikið Kaffihús:
“According to a source at the bar, the altercation took place after the individual, identified as Miller, was confronted by a group of eager fans, who were “quite pushy.” Things then escalated, with Miller losing his temper at one woman in particular.
Prikið staff escorted the actor, who was upset and angry, off the premises following the incident.”
Ezra Miller has yet to speak about the incident. However, no matter the case, video does exist of Ezra Miller grabbing someone by the throat and throwing them to the ground. And no matter what excuse the actor might have, or what led up to this, this is not a good look for Miller, at all.
We’ll just have to wait and see what new information surfaces about the situation. You can view the video below, as well as the alleged context. Obviously, if you are sensitive to violence, be advised the video does show exactly what was described above.
UPDATE: According to a report from The Wrap, Miller is not under investigation for the alleged incident and likely won’t be charged. This is due to the police not being at the scene during the altercation and no one reporting a crime in the aftermath.
