It’s not always easy to get noticed on the festival circuit with your debut feature film, but writer/director Pascal Plante is making waves with “Fake Tattoos.” The movie made a big splash this fall, winning Best Canadian Film at the 2017 Festival du Nouveau Cinema, and the industry paid attention. “Fake Tattoos” is getting ready to make its U.S. premiere at the upcoming Slamdance Film Festival, and after that, it will travel abroad to the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival for its European bow. Today, we’re excited to share the exclusive trailer for this special film.
Starring Anthony Therrien and Rose-Marie Perreault, the story follows two young punks, who fall in love across one warm Montreal summer, but together face an uncertain future. Here’s the official synopsis:
Theo spends his 18th birthday alone, getting drunk at a brutal punk rock show. There, he meets Mag, a marginal teenager who invites him to spend the night at her place. A love story unfolds between them, but Theo has to move at the end of the summer in a small town, far away from a painful past…
A film worth keeping an eye on, “Fake Tattoos” will have its first screening at Slamdance on Sunday, January 21st at 12:15 PM at the Ballroom. The film opens in Quebec on February 16th.
