The Feel-Goodery Of Will Smith's 'Seven Pounds' Might Not Be Total Cheese

The trailer for “Seven Pounds” went up a few weeks ago around TIFF, but was unceremoniously yanked down from the web almost immediately. It’s back up. Director Gabriele Muccino reteams with Will Smith (from the actually quite good “The Pursuit of Happyness “) who stars as a suicidal IRS agent in an emotional story of a man who “seeks redemption by changing the lives of seven strangers.” Rosario Dawson plays his love interest suffering from a heart condition and Woody Harrelson portrays a blind pianist.

It seems rather cheesy and feelgood, but like we said, ‘Happyness’ was underrated and Smith deserved his Oscar nomination for Best Actor, so don’t count out the film just yet. “Seven Pounds” hits theaters December 19.
