The battles Sam Taylor-Johnson faced during the production of "Fifty Shades Of Grey" are well documented, and she’s not returning for the sequels ("Glengarry Glen Ross" director James Foley will be taking over). That means her scheduled is now open, and she can put the erotic blockbuster behind her and move on to something else, which is just what she’s done.

Deadline reports that Taylor-Johnson is headed to Netflix, where she’ll executive produce and direct the first two episodes of "Gypsy." Created by Lisa Rubin, the show centers on Jean Holloway, a therapist who gets way too involved in the lives of her patients. She’s probably not getting a lot of recommendations from her clients.
Production on the show will begin this summer, which means we’ll likely know casting soon. However, Taylor-Johnon’s move to "Gypsy" means she’s dropped out of helming the indie, "Chappaquiddick," which centers on the true life event when Sen. Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopechne in an auto accident, and didn’t report it to police for nine hours. The hunt is on for a new director.
