First Look At Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger In Remake Of 'The Bridge' From 'Miss Bala' Helmer Gerardo Naranjo

nullIf can you weren't aware, Danish television is currently having a bit of a moment. Last month, New Yorker did a fascinating profile on the country's television industry and the popularity of their shows at home and more importantly abroad, with the politically minded "Borgen," "The Killing" (duh) and "The Bridge" all gaining fervent fans. And with "The Killing" already been taken down the remake route, next is the "The Bridge" (there is a separate UK remake in the works too) being brought to life by "Miss Bala" helmer Gerardo Naranjo. And now we have a first look at what he's been up to.

Demian Bichir ("A Better Life," "Savages") and Diane Kruger ("Inglourious Basterds," "Unknown") lead the story that will focus on two cops, El Paso Police Homicide Detective Sonya North (Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Bichir) from Mexico, who team up to find a serial killer who's on the loose. We imagine the series will start the same way the Danish version did, with a body found on the titular bridge with one half in each country. The border setting for the film is promising, and with director Gerardo Naranja having shown some pretty kinetic chops with "Miss Bala," we're eager to see what he'll do here (though it's unclear how episodes he's helmed).

FX will bring the series to the small screen, though there's no premiere date just yet. Maybe later this fall? [CinemaTeaser]null
