First Look At Edward Norton & Bill Murray On The Set Of Wes Anderson's 'Moonrise Kingdom'

Harvey Keitel Confirmed As Part Of The Cast

With filming underway on Wes Anderson‘s next project, “Moonrise Kingdom,” info is slowly starting to creep out about the film that has been keeping a lid on some of the finer details, but here’s what we know so far. Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman star alongside newcomers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward in the director’s first period film set in 1960s New England, with the story centering on a young boy and young girl who fall in love and run away together, turning their small town upside down in the process. Gilman and Hayward play the kids, with Willis as the town sheriff, Edward Norton as a Boy Scout camp leader and Murray and McDormand as the young girl’s parents.

The Film Stage has done some digging today and brought forth some new info on the film. Firstly, they’ve found some set photos on the IMDb message board that gives us our first look at Ed Norton in his camp leader gear as well as Bill Murray on the set being his usual awesome self. There are also some snaps of the extensive set. Additionally, Harvey Keitel — whose name has been cropping up here are there in connection with the film — now looks to be fully on board. Middletown Patch and the Providence Journal confirm his participation with an extra from the set and the Rhode Island Film and Television Office, respectively (and yes, reps for Keitel have confirmed this as well).

Filming on “Moonrise Kingdom” will continue through the summer, with the aforementioned extra, Alden Jenkins, telling Middletown Patch that Wes Anderson will screen the film for the Scouts before a summer 2012 release. But until that date is confirmed by Focus Features, don’t hold to it just yet. More pics below.
