First Look At Rachel McAdams On The Set Of Brian De Palma’s ‘Passion’ Reveal Her Pensively Clutching A Bag

Since it seems like Brian De Palma has almost, sort-of, maybe, nearly been attached to dozens of projects over the past decade, anytime actual physical evidence surfaces of him making a movie, it’s reason for celebration. It’s enough to make you want to scream, “It’s really happening!” at the top of your lungs, annoying your coworkers and friends. But that’s what we just did when we saw these brand new behind-the-scenes set photos of Rachel McAdams, wearing a lovely pink number, on the set of De Palma’s new thriller “Passion."

The set photos don’t really spoil anything or reveal much at all (besides our continued understanding of how adorable McAdams is). She can be seen clutching a bag and looking pensive. Since this is a De Palma movie we can assume she’s either a) being followed by somebody b) following somebody c) just come from having some kind of rough sex d) is plotting a murder or e) has already murdered somebody. We’ll see if any of this pans out.

“Passion” is a loose remake of the 2010 French thriller “Love Crime,” which starred Ludivine Sagnier and Kristin Scott-Thomas and was directed by Alain Corneau. That film involved two women involved in a sexy and dangerous power play while working at a multinational conglomerate. While it’s been said that the remake changes some key aspects of the plot, they haven’t been fully revealed. The release date for “Passion” (a dizzying French-German-Spanish-British co-production), which also stars original “Girl with the Dragon TattooNoomi Rapace, hasn’t been established but we’d be surprised if it came out this year (maybe Cannes 2013? Remember the opening of “Femme Fatale”?)

The only other aspect to note in these photos is De Palma himself. Dressed in a ribbed jacket, he looks a little bit like the Michelin Man. Apparently the Master of Suspense is not the Master of the Pushup. [Kinopoisk]
