Here is your first look at Ben Affleck and Blake Lively on the set of Affleck’s Boston-set romantic-heist-thriller, “The Town.”
The two play lovers and will star alongside the likes of Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner and the recently added Slaine, an Irish-American emcee, Boston native who also starred in “Gone Baby Gone.” Chris Cooper is still in talks to join as Affleck’s father.
Based on a Chuck Hogan novel, “The Town” centers on a bank robber (Affleck) who becomes romantically involved with a bank manager (Hall) with complications arising as he is drawn away from his criminal path by the relationship. All this while an FBI agent (Hamm) is on the tail of the bank robber and his gang as well as being romantically interested in the aforementioned bank manager.
More set pics also show Affleck switching up between his actor and director hats while the real-life inspiration of another recent Boston-shot film, ‘Irish’ Micky Ward (David O. Russell’s “The Fighter”) was spotted driving passengers vans on set. Probably Wahlberg pulling him a few favors with fellow Hollywoodians?
Filming began on August 31st in and around with Boston the productions’s climax set to involve the iconic Fenway Park.
