Viral marketing from “Iron Man 2” has provided the first look at John Slattery in his role as Howard Stark, father of Tony. The marketing unveiled a new website advertising a ‘Stark Expo’ being held in Flushing Meadows, presumably the same event seen in the trailer with the fireworks, dancers and general braggadocio-esque brouhaha.
While Will Smith is likely still deciding between “Men In Black 3” and “The City That Sailed” for his next project, another sequel may be putting its hand up as Smith’s follow up. Not only one but two sequels to 1996’s “Independence Day” are rumored to be in the works with a back-to-back shoot potentially starting as early as next year. Why in the world would Smith want to do that, you ask? There’d probably be close to 50 million reasons. Update before we even post. Not so much? Gossip Cop is reporting this is untrue. The site is generally reliable for debunking, but they don’t reveal their sources.
Sam Worthington has confirmed his involvement with an adaptation of ‘Dan Dare’ though neglected to reveal any details on the project. The adaptation of “Last Days Of American Crime” meanwhile, is being put together with ” the writer of the comic actually doing his take on a draft.”
“Saw VII 3D” and “Paranormal Activity 2” are set to go head to head later this year with both sure-to-be mediocre horror films set to face off in theaters on October 22nd. Right before Halloween, natch. The two franchises butted heads earlier this year when ‘Saw’ producers exercised an option to retain director Kevin Greutert forcing him to leave his post as the helmer of the “Paranormal Activity” sequel. Tod “Kip“ Williams will now helm that the ‘PA2’ sequel instead. Just remember what happened to “The Blair Witch” series after one film however…
