First Look: Ryan Reynolds In Costume As 'Green Lantern'

Some enthusiasts were so keen to see the new cover of Entertainment Weekly that sported a first look of Ryan Reynolds on the cover in his “Green Lantern” costume that they wrote pre-release stories.

Well, here it is, your first look at Reynolds in the costume (via EW of course) and we’ll remind you, if you care that much that the “costume” is evidently all mo-cap CGI and not an actual suit that Reynolds wears on set. Neat (though some geeks are gonna have issues with that mask, we can feel it already).

WB will show off “Green Lantern” at ComicCon next week, so if we’re seeing what the hero looks like now, surely the nerdicon convention will have more treats and likely some kind of sizzle reel.

“Will and imagination are his superpowers,” Reynolds told EW about his character. “We need a circus of Timothy Learys to think of things Hal would invent with his ring.”

There’s also this awesome quote about the high altitude wire work he was forced to do. “The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper.” TMI, buddy.

Directed by Martin Campbell (who failed big time with “Edge of Darkness”) ,”Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard (who we’ve already seen on set), Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, Angela Bassett and is due in theaters June 17, 2011.
