While J.J. Abrams wants to keep a tight lid on the surprises he has in store for his Amblin Entertainment homage “Super 8,” Paramount is bit more concerned about dropping a summer movie with no big stars that isn’t a sequel and is not based on any pre-existing property. They’ve already presented twenty-odd minutes film to a handful of movie types and industry folks to positive buzz and as the film builds towards it’s release in June, you can bet the marketing campaign will be built up to a fever pitch to at least get moviegoers curious while still (hopefully) holding back the secrets.
Bloody Disgusting has unveiled the first official still from the film and….well, it doesn’t offer up too much but it will get the viral fans going as there is definitely something showing in the camera lens (see the bigger version after the jump). Starring Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney, Gabriel Basso, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills, the ‘70s Ohio-set film will center on the strange events that occur following a train crash with a pack of kids who investigate and find out more. We’re pretty excited for this one and all will be revealed on June 10th.
