When you have a film as critically-acclaimed as “Booksmart” for your directorial debut, it doesn’t take long for Hollywood to come to its senses and dangle lots of projects in front of your face. For Olivia Wilde, the actor-turned-director of “Booksmart,” the first project she’s set to tackle next is the upcoming film “Don’t Worry Darling,” and it appears that she’s lined up one hell of a cast.

According to Variety, Wilde has brought on actors Florence Pugh, Shia LaBeouf, and Chris Pine to star in her upcoming psychological thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling.” The film is written by her “Booksmart” collaborator Katie Silberman, who rewrote the original script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. The report claims that Pugh is the star of the film, which is described as a psychological thriller set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert.
Clearly, this is a change of pace for both Silberman and Wilde, coming off their teen coming-of-age film. However, with that cast, it seems as if both are in good hands delivering what is now one of our most-anticipated films.
Pugh is probably best known for her work in last year’s thriller, “Midsommar.” Before that, she starred in films such as “Lady Macbeth” and “Fighting with My Family.” She also earned an Oscar nomination for her role in “Little Women.” She’ll next be seen in the upcoming “Black Widow” for Marvel Studios.

LaBeouf is also an actor that is on fire lately, with two great films in 2019. He starred in the film “The Peanut Butter Falcon” and then later appeared as his father in a film inspired by his life growing up, Alma Har’el’s acclaimed “Honey Boy.”
And Pine? I mean, the guy’s a huge star, appearing in franchises like “Star Trek” and “Wonder Woman.” He just recently signed on to star in the upcoming reboot of “The Saint.”
Obviously, there’s no release date set for “Don’t Worry Darling.”
