Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's 'The Tourist' Adds Timothy Dalton And Steven Berkoff

Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s romantic spy thriller “The Tourist” has added former Bond Timothy Dalton and former Bond villain Steven Berkoff to its cast.

The two join Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell in the film which centers on a bumbling American tourist (Depp) who becomes inadvertently involved with an international spy (Jolie). It’s not yet known what role Dalton and Berkoff will play.

Shooting is currently taking place in Venice with a release for the film potentially coming by year’s end. As we previously reported, the film’s European distributor Studio Canal revealed that “although there’s no specific date yet, the thriller may be released as early as Christmas.”

The film is a remake of 2005 French thriller “Anthony Zimmer” and saw a revolving door of talent involved including the likes of Bharat Nalluri, Tom Cruise, Charlize Theron, Alfonso Cuaron and Sam Worthington before settling on the current iteration.
