Oh yeah, "The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones," We nearly forgot about you. It seems this movie has been spinning its wheels, moving from on again to off again to on again over the past little while. But it seems some casting is now beginning to happen, and a new face is joining the film.
Variety reports that French actress Jemima West (who English speaking folks might recognize from her stint on "The Borgias") has joined the cast of the film, which includes Lily Collins and yes, Jamie Campbell Bower. The latter was attached before the film initially fell apart, and when it came back together, his name was curiously absent. But it looks like he will be your Jace, fans. As for West, while the trade doesn't say who she'll play, fansite TMI Source believe she has locked down the role of Isabelle Lightwood.
In case you're playing catchup, 'Mortal Instruments' tells the story of a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Collins), who discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures. Isabelle is Jace's badass, thigh-high boot-wearing, whip-wielding Shadowhunter colleague, who falls for his best friend Simon.
We guess this means production will be gearing up soon. Harald Zwart is at the helm for the movie, which is slated to hit theaters on August 23, 2013. Got ideas on who should play the rest of the parts in the film? Check out our extensive look at the roles up for grabs right here.
