Yes, Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" is on the way, and where once secrecy and mystery reigned, now it seems we can't get enough info about the movie, what with the release of new posters, images and a confirmation this morning that it will be in the TIFF. And now, full details on Jonny Greenwood's score and the rest of the soundtrack to the film have dropped.
Nonesuch Records have announced they are now taking pre-orders for the 14-track disc, so get your credit card ready. The track titles don't seem to be giving anything away, so don't worry too much about taking a glance. Perhaps most intriguing are the period-specific songs that are coming with it. Of all the Ella Fitzgerald songs to pick from, "Get Thee Behind Me Satan" is an interesting one, while big band types will likely enjoy seeing Helen Forrest sing "Changing Partners," while cast member Madisen Beaty gives her pipes over to the very popular (at the time) "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree (With Anyone But Me)." Wrapping things up is Jo Stafford's "No Other Love" as featured in the trailer.
"The Master" soundtrack arrives on September 11th with the film opening on September 14th. Tracklist below. [via Pitchfork]
