Even though Noah Hawley is seemingly spending a lot of time working in the world of “Alien” to bring a new TV series to life, it appears the writer-producer is going to find time enough to make yet another season of “Fargo.”
Today, FX has announced the return of “Fargo,” with Season 5 coming soon. Here’s how Season 5 of the anthology series is described:
Fargo has traveled through decades, cities and families, and the fifth installment will be no different: Set in 2019, when is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?
“Noah Hawley is a masterful storyteller who has successfully created four wholly original seasons of one of the most brilliant series on television,” said Michael Wright, President of Scripted Television at MGM. “We cannot wait to see his vision for season five come to life with our partners at FX.”
Eric Schrier, President, FX Entertainment, added, “Noah and Warren have delighted and inspired fans through four brilliant chapters of ‘Fargo’ and we’re thrilled to announce with our partners at MGM a new chapter of what has become one of TV’s best and most acclaimed series.”
“Fargo” is one of the most beloved series on TV today. Through the first four seasons, it’s earned numerous Emmys and other awards and has become the sort of gold standard for anthology storytelling. The fourth season of “Fargo” began its run in September 2020 with Chris Rock leading the cast with a story set in 1950s Kansas City.
Details about casting and a release date have yet to be revealed. However, if the first four seasons are any indication, we can fully expect a star-studded cast to be announced soon enough.
