Gal Gadot is best known for her heroic turn in the DCEU’s “Wonder Woman” film franchise. However, on her way to working with Disney, it appears the actress is ready to show off her villainous side in “Snow White.”
According to THR, Gal Gadot is signed on to play the Evil Queen in the upcoming live-action remake of “Snow White” from Disney. The actress joins the previously announced Rachel Zegler in the cast of the film, which is to be directed by Marc Webb. Much like the animated original, the live-action “Snow White” follows the story of the title character (Zegler) who finds herself in the crosshairs of the Evil Queen (Gadot) after the latter discovers that the magical mirror considers Snow White the “fairest of them all.”
In addition to her work as “Wonder Woman,” Gadot has starred in a number of films, including “Keeping Up with the Joneses,” “Triple 9,” and several “Fast & Furious” installments. She’s currently promoting her upcoming Netflix film, “Red Notice,” and she also is set to be part of the ensemble for the upcoming “Death on the Nile” film from Kenneth Branagh.
“Snow White” is Disney’s latest live-action remake of a classic animated feature. Previously, the studio has released “Dumbo,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” “Maleficent,” and “Cinderella.” In addition to those films, the studio is also working on live-action “The Little Mermaid” and “Pinocchio.”
It’s unclear when “Snow White” will hit theaters, but if you want to see Gadot in a feature sooner than later, “Red Notice” arrives on Netflix on November 5.
