'Game Of Thrones' Final Season Teaser Promises The Battle Of Fire & Ice

Winter’s not coming, winter’s here. When we last saw the world of George R. R. Martin’s “Game of Thrones,” and the people of Westeros and Essos, things were about to hit the fan. The dreaded White Walkers had reached their destination The Wall: the colossal fortification which stretches along the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms, defended and held by the Sworn Brothers of the Night’s Watch and protecting the realm from the wildlings who live beyond. And of course, thanks to an undead dragon they smashed the entire thing down, leaving the whole realm finally vulnerable to a massive army of walking dead.

On the flipside of the realm, Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of dragons and alleged rightful heir to the iron throne (Emilia Clarke) had finally met Jon Snow (Kit Harington), planned a truce and collaboration to defeat the encroaching army of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). But this is really all to say, things have reached their apex, and the narrative is coming to a close. All of the seekers of the throne have finally met face to face and many, tried to force a greater treaty against the impending doom of the White Walkers.

Cersei just wouldn’t do it. So, season eight, the truncated season of only six short episodes promises an insane showdown and war on all sides of the realms. The eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” is set to debut sometime in April, 2019 but no specific date has been given yet.

A new teaser “Dragonstone,” doesn’t feature any new footage and in fact, it’s more of a promo teaser that could even be the new open for the final, season, we shall see, but it does play along the same map dynamic with various creatures, wolves, dragons and monsters representing each of the specific tribes of “Game Of Thrones.” Does this mean a real trailer is coming? Yep, but HBO is patient, so we may need to wait till the new year. Or upcoming Christmas gift? More when we have it.
