Latest Two 'Game Of Thrones' Ads Feature Plenty Of New Footage For Fans To Dissect

If it wasn’t for the masterful promotion of “Avengers: Endgame” by Marvel Studios and Disney, we might be saying that the promotional campaign for the final season of “Game of Thrones” could be the best ever, by the simple fact that the network has worked fans up into a frenzy without really showing much of anything. And with the two most recent teasers, HBO has done it again.

The final season of “Game of Thrones” is said to be just over 7 hours in total length (spread over 6 episodes). And yet, if you take all the new footage that has been shown in trailers leading up to now, you’re probably going to count just about 5 minutes worth of scenes. That means fans of the show still have no clue what to expect in the final 6 episodes, while also feeling like they’ve seen a fair amount of the season. That’s some good marketing, right there.

The latest promos are just 30-second ads titled “Survival” and “Together.” They both follow similar structures, with voiceover presenting an ominous reading and random scenes being thrown at your eyeballs (including plenty of dragon action). Much like the film mentioned at the very beginning, Season 8 of ‘Thrones’ is the culmination of hours and hours of story and is expected to be one of the biggest finales in the history of TV. Obviously, if you based the assessment on its sheer scale and budget alone, it’ll clearly be the biggest final season of a TV show ever filmed, but that really doesn’t do it justice.

The final season of “Game of Thrones” premieres on April 14 and you can watch the new teasers below:
