Making a good trailer is a tricky business, as our recent look at the 20 Best Movie Trailers Of 2016 bears out. In the clutter of movie marketing, making a spot that works and grabs attention in the clutter of advertising isn’t an easy feat. And then there’s the question of how much you reveal, and what you leave out so audiences have something to look forward to when they buy their ticket. It’s a difficult equation, but director James Gunn promises that for “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2,” they won’t giving away the good stuff.
“With ‘Guardians,’ people really go through every single little shot and try to figure out what the movie’s about. And there’s a lot of mysteries in ‘Guardians 2,’ ” he told THR. “We were talking about how much to give away — and we’re not going to give away very much.”

“With ‘Guardians,’ it’s such an emotional and physical journey, going to all these different places. It’s like, ‘God, do I really want to show this planet we go to in the middle of the movie? … Those are always hard choices to make,” he added.
So, it’ll be interesting to watch this new trailer knowing that context. The upcoming film brings Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone into the ensemble that includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan.
