Last year, audiences were introduced to “Genera+ion” (“Generation“), HBO‘s answer to… well, some argued HBO’s “Euphoria,” Evidently there’s more than enough teen drama to go around, but to be fair, this is a show with a more playful vibe. Regardless, the series was interrupted by COVID-19 and those related issues; the sixteen-episode first season had to be broken up into two parts. Today, HBO Max announced that “Genera+ion” returns with eight new episodes to finish the season.
On June 17, “Genera+ion” returns with three new episodes. Then, the series continues with two episodes on June 24, two episodes on July 1, and one episode on July 8. Here’s the synopsis if you haven’t seen the show.
“GENERA+ION” is a dark yet playful half-hour series following a diverse group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) test deeply entrenched beliefs about life, love, and the nature of family in their conservative community.

The “Genera+ion” ensemble is vast and includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Nava Mau, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and Chase Sui Wonders with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton. Recurring guest stars include J. August Richards, Mary Birdsong, Alicia Coppola, Patricia De Leon, Diego Josef, Anthony Kevyan, Sydney Mae Diaz, John Ross Bowie, Marwan Salama, Marisela Zumbado, and Sam Trammell.

“Genera+ion” was created by daughter/father pair, Zelda Barnz & Daniel Barnz; and executive produced by Daniel Barnz, Ben Barnz, and Zelda Barnz for We’re Not Brothers Productions, Lena Dunham from HBO’s “Girls” is also one of the many co-producers on the series.
