Jodie Foster‘s financial thriller “Money Monster,” is starting to take shape. The director already has George Clooney in the lead role and now it looks like Julia Roberts and rising star Jack O’Connell (“Unbroken,” Terry Gilliam’s “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”) are joining the cast. Clooney stars as a bombastic financial TV personality who offers up stock advice on his hit show. O’Connell will play a financially-strapped blue-collar work who takes the TV star hostage in order to kill a stock price, and Roberts will play a TV exec. In case you’ve forgotten, Guy Ritchie is the man tasked with getting Warner Bros. "Knights Of The Round Table" off the ground. planned as a six-film epic, the project has been in development for several years, but is slowly inching forward thanks to some new casting news. It appears that Jude Law is going to play one of the villains in the movie. “Thor” co-star Idris Elba was once in contention to play King Arthur’s mentor, but apparently a deal wasn’t reached and he’s out of the film. The cast currently includes Charlie Hunnam as Arthur and Astrid Berges-Frisbey (“I Origins”) playing Guinevere. [Variety]
Claire Foy (NBC’s “Crossbones”) will star in Stephen Daldry and Peter Morgan‘s “The Queen” spin-off series for Netflix “The Crown.” [Deadline]
Comedy fans take note: Tim Heidecker, Nick Kroll, Kaitlin Olson and Michael Pena have joined the “Vacation” reboot. Screenwriters Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are directing based on their own script. Ed Helms is starring as Rusty Griswold, the role that Chevy Chase made famous in the 1980s. [Variety]
Kathryn Hahn will be back as the female lead in the Showtime pilot “Happyish.” The original pilot had to be scrapped when lead actor Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away this past February. Steve Coogan is now playing his role. [Deadline]
