George R. R. Martin Has "No Bloody Idea" If There Will Be A 'Game Of Thrones' Movie; New Season 5 Trailer, Pics & More

Game Of Thrones Season 5 Emilia ClarkeIt was almost exactly a year ago when author George R. R. Martin said that a "Game Of Thrones" movie was under discussion. The only question was how many seasons the show would run, and he even suggested that "Tales Of Dunk And Egg" could serve as the source material. But a lot can happen in twelve months. Just last week, HBO exec. Michael Lombardo expressed a desire for the hit fantasy show to run at least ten seasons, while also sharing that he was cool on the idea of a movie saying, "… when you start a series with our subscribers, the promise is that for your HBO fee that we’re going to take you to the end of this. I feel that on some level [a movie would be] changing the rules: Now you have to pay $16 to see how your show ends.” As for Martin, he’s clarified his movie talk with an entry on his blog  here’s an excerpt

I see that this new crop of [news] stories also raises, once again, the notion of concluding the series with one or more feature films. And in some of these stories, once again, this idea is wrongly attributed to me. Let me state, yet again, that while I love this idea, it did NOT originate with me. It was a notion suggested to me, which I have enthusiastically endorsed… but since I was the first person to raise the possibility in public, somehow I am being seen as its father.

Sure, I love the idea. Why not? What fantasist would not love the idea of going out with an epic hundred million feature film? And the recent success of the IMAX experience shows that the audience is there for such a movie. If we build it, they will come. But will we build it? I have no bloody idea.

So for now, stay focused on season five, which arrives on April 12th. Below you’ll find a new trailer, featurettes, images (via EW), and the cast attempting to summarize the series in 30 seconds. Emilia Clarke‘s "blood, death, boobs" might be the most accurate.
